About
Meredith Tedford, M.A.
Meredith earned a M.A. in Mindfulness Studies from Lesley University, having cultivated an appreciation for both traditional Buddhist philosophy and modern, secular practice and teaching. She specializes in helping clients create sustainable mindful practices through the existing routines of their daily lives.
Her particular interest is the integration of meditation practices in physical fitness programs and athletics.
Meredith began exploring mindfulness a decade ago when a series of injuries sidelined her yoga practice. Missing yoga’s inherent mind-body connection, she began to study meditation, discovering a similar sense of relaxation and ease during various practices and an even greater appreciation and understanding of mindfulness as a way of being.
Her background in Communication and Education informs her philosophy of teaching and learning. She strives to embody compassionate, mindful practice in engaging with students of all ages, recognizing that learning is a lifelong endeavor, and everyone is capable of personal growth.
Meredith develops programming for clients and staff at gyms to support overall health and wellbeing; works with athletes on their mental fitness and preparedness; and coaches groups and individuals on better managing stress and anxiety, becoming more effective and compassionate communicators, and learning to enjoy small moments with more focus and calm.
Meredith is trained in several additional programs including George Mumford’s Mindful Athlete study group, Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness practice, and Advanced Mindfulness Based Interventions for Children and Teens. She is also a certified Reiki Level 2 practitioner.
